COFAC/ ULHT – Lusófona University (Project Coordination)

COFAC is the largest non-public University in Portugal. ULHT/COFAC participates in the project via a strong, experienced joint team from the Faculty of Engineering – Industrial Engineering Management group and Circular economy and Sustainability group – and from the Centre for Research in Applied Communication. ULHT/COFAC team is in charge of the coordination of the project and provides knowledge and skills in operation research in the directions of quality control, industrial design, risk assessment, multiply criteria analysis, and economic assessment. Its main responsibility it would be within the Work Package 6 on project management and dissemination activities. They will participate as well in Work Package 1 on Deuterium metabolic spectroscopy and deuterium metabolic imaging for Task 1.5, and in Work Package 2 on Deuterium impacting excitatory/inhibitory (E/I) balance in a human neuronal network model system for Task 2.1.

University of Wurzburg (Department of Molecular Psychiatry)

The Chair of Molecular Psychiatry with its Research Department for Brain Development Disorders and Cognition in conjunction with the Laboratory for Translational Neurosciences as part of the Center of Mental Health at the University Hospital Würzburg (UKW) is one of the leading institutions in the field of psychiatric neurosciences at the interface of molecular genetics, cellular neurobiology, and behavioral research. Interdisciplinary and translational strategies are used to investigate the pathogenesis of developmental brain disorders and a wide range of life-spanning mental disorders, from anxiety, depression, psychotic (schizophrenia) and neurodegenerative disorders to attention deficit/hyperactivity and autism spectrum disorders and substance abuse. In addition, mechanisms of pharmacological and psychotherapeutic treatment are investigated. They will be mainly responsible by Work Package 2 on Deuterium impacting excitatory/inhibitory (E/I) balance in a human neuronal network model system, and will participate in Work Package 3 on Evaluation of effects of deuterium depletion in animal models of metabolic syndrome, on Work Package 4 on Evaluation of impact deuterium depletion in animal models of aging and on Work Package 5 on Production of deuterium depleted and control water samples, control of deuterium content in experimental tissue

NEUROPLAST

Neuroplast is a company whose mission is the development of improved stem cell technologies for treatment of severe neurological disorders. These disorders include but not limited by Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, traumatic spinal cord injury, ischemic stroke, cerebral palsy, and Alzheimer’s and Parkinson disorders. Neuroplast will be mainly responsible for the Work Package 1 on Deuterium metabolic spectroscopy and deuterium metabolic imaging and on Work Package 3 on Evaluation of effects of deuterium depletion in animal models of metabolic syndrome. They will participate as well in Work Package 2 on Deuterium impacting excitatory/inhibitory (E/I) balance in a human neuronal network model system, in Work Package 4 on Evaluation of impact deuterium depletion in animal models of aging and in Work Package 5 on Production of deuterium depleted and control water samples, control of deuterium content in experimental tissue

HYD for Cancer Research and Drug Development

HYD LLC. for Cancer Research and Drug Development was established for the research, development and worldwide marketing of pharmaceutical and consumer products based on the proprietor procedure, deuterium depletion, primarily for the prevention and treatment of various kinds of cancer and for exploration of new indication fields for the application of deuterium depleted water (DDW). HYD's approach to deuterium depletion of water and other molecules has broad potential to enhance the effectiveness of the presently available oncology therapies and result in innovative new medicines and consumer products for the treatment and prevention of cancer and other (e.g. metabolic) diseases. HYD will be the main responsible of the Work Package 4 on Production of deuterium depleted and control water samples, control of deuterium content in experimental tissues.
